They were led by BCorp chairman Tan Sri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun and BCorp chief executive officer, Datuk Robin Tan, who presented the home with RM15,000, a new 37-inch LCD TV and essential items.

They also distributed goodie bags containing biscuits, oats, beverages and oranges, and ang pow to each resident of the home.

"Chinese New Year is a time to get together with families, relatives and friends to share the joy and laughter. Senior citizens who live in homes should not be forgotten," said Vincent Tan.

The home provides shelter to 25 homeless senior citizens aged between 55 and 80.

Most of them had been referred to the home by government hospitals.

As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), BCorp has carried out a number of community-centred activities including welfare home visits, contributions of cash to the needy as well as medical and health related causes, education programmes for underprivileged children, programmes for single mothers and providing aid for crisis relief.

The group's crisis relief aid has gone beyond Malaysian shores to countries like Vietnam, China, Indonesia and Japan. Other areas of BCorp's CSR programme include environmental conservation, promotion of local arts, culture, heritage and sports.
